I watched Happy-Go-Lucky tonight. Poppy, the main character, is a terrific nutty character - she’s the epitome of the movie’s title. There’s a line where Poppy’s sister is berating her for being so carefree, implying she’s unhappy and Poppy replies, “I am happy. I love my life. I have a great job, amazing friends, yeah, it can be tough at times, but that’s part of it.” Totally reminded me of someone I haven’t seen in a while and miss a lot. That happy-go-lucky spirit is infectious and goes a long way. I’m gonna call my friend tomorrow and play catch up.
